NMU alumni are one of our greatest assets. Discovering their stories and insights is invaluable to our University as we prepare for the future. We started the Discovery Initiative to connect current students and alumni, understand alumni perceptions of NMU and learn about life experiences after leaving campus.
During the spring, summer and winter breaks, selected NMU students visit participating alumni to have a friendly and personal, one-on-one conversation. The visit is an opportunity for alumni to meet our best ambassadors and share thoughts and opinions about NMU all while getting to know today's students.
Student Representatives gain life skills and receive added value to their education by learning from our alumni and hearing how NMU helped them succeed beyond graduation. The conversations can develop into lasting relationships, giving students access to a network of professionals from across many fields.
The Discovery Initiative brings students and alumni together to share stories, learn from one another and celebrate the NMU experience.
The meetings are arranged by Student Representatives with participating alumni in areas the students are living or visiting over the school breaks.
